When Communication Breaks Down, It Hurts

Even strong relationships can feel strained when partners struggle to connect. Misunderstandings pile up, arguments circle back, and closeness feels out of reach.

Common Signs Parents Notice:

  • Conversations turning into conflicts instead of solutions

  • One partner feeling unseen while the other feels like they can never “get it right”

  • ADHD, Autism, or attachment trauma making it harder to feel understood

  • A growing sense of distance, even when love is still there

It’s painful when the person you most want to connect with feels the farthest away. With support, you can rebuild connection and communication together.

You don’t have to stay stuck in the same patterns.

Questions You Might Be Asking

Do we both need to be present for every session?

Yes.

Couples therapy works best when both partners are actively engaged. Most sessions will be together, though occasionally I may recommend individual check-ins if it supports the work we’re doing.

How long are the sessions, and how often do we meet?

Sessions are typically 50 minutes. Many couples start with weekly sessions and may space them out over time as they begin to feel more connected and confident using new tools.

Can you work with couples where ADHD, Autism, or Trauma is part of the picture?

Absolutely!

These are areas I specialize in, and they often play a big role in communication and connection. Together, we’ll look at how these dynamics affect your relationship and build strategies to support both partners.

What if one of us is nervous about starting therapy?

That’s completely normal. It’s common for one partner to feel more ready than the other. We’ll go at a pace that feels manageable and focus on creating a safe, supportive space where both voices matter.

Do you offer online sessions only, or in-person too?

All sessions are offered online through secure telehealth. This makes it easier for couples to fit therapy into their lives without travel time.

How long does it take to notice changes?

Many couples begin to feel small shifts within the first few sessions. More lasting changes take time, but with consistent effort and practice, you can build healthier patterns and a stronger connection.

What if we decide we need individual counseling too?

Sometimes couples benefit from both individual and couples therapy. If that feels right, we can talk about options and make a plan that supports your goals.

Do you integrate faith or spirituality if requested?

Yes.

While I’m not a certified or registered faith-based practitioner, I am able to incorporate faith into treatment if it plays an important role in your relationship. We’ll integrate it in a way that feels supportive and respectful for both partners.

Ready to Rebuild Together?

Change starts with one conversation — let’s take that step together.
